Getting There

The old Onekaka Wharf is located in the small coastal settlement of Onekaka, approximately 15 minutes north of Takaka and around 10 minutes south of Collingwood.

From State Highway 60, turn onto Washbourn Road and follow it towards the coast. A small parking area is located near the beach, with just a short walk to the historic wharf remains.

If you're planning to photograph sunrise, allow plenty of time to arrive before first light. The road is sealed and suitable for all vehicles, but extra care should be taken when driving in the dark, particularly during the cooler months when fog can occasionally be present.
